Abstract

The total export value of Lampung Province in November 2012 reached US$389 million or an increase of US$10.7 million (2.82%) compared to exports in October 2012 which was recorded at US$378.3 million. The export value in November 2012 posted the third highest record in 2012 after July and September. Exports in November 2012, compared with November 2011, rose US$56.3 million (16.92%) from US$332.7 million.

The four main categories of goods that experienced an increase in export value in November compared to October 2012 were animal/vegetable fats & oils of US$69.6 million; wood pulp/pulp US$4.4 million; various chemical products US$2.11 million; and sugar and confectionery US$2.08 million. The six main categories of goods that experienced a decline in export value were coffee, tea, spices US$32.6 million; rubber and rubber goods US$3.6 million; food industry dregs/waste US$2.4 million; fish and shrimp US$1.3 million; processed fruit/vegetables US$1.2 million; and processed meat and fish US$1.16 million.

The largest contribution to export value in November 2012 occurred in animal/vegetable fats and oils; coffee, tea, and spices; wood pulp/pulp; and processed fruit/vegetables, each contributing 43.48%; 26.78%; 4.36%; and 3.78% of November 2012 total exports from Lampung Province. The role of these four groups reached 78.40% of total exports in the same period.

The main destination country for exports in November 2012 was Italy which reached US$50.4 million, followed by India, the United States and the Netherlands at US$43.3 million, US$40.6 million and US$39.2 million respectively. The role of the four reached 44.34% of total exports that month.
