Bandar Lampung, July 2020 Inflation of 0.33 Percent

Abstract

July 2020, the city of Bandar Lampung experienced inflation of 0.33 percent. An increase in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) from 104.81 in June 2020 to 105.16 in July 2020. Inflation occurred due to price increases in five expenditure groups namely; health group with inflation of 1.17 percent; transportation group 0.89 percent; household equipment, equipment and routine maintenance 0.68 percent; food, beverage and tobacco group 0.57 percent; and the food and beverage / restaurant supply group 0.04 percent. In contrast, three expenditure groups experienced deflation, namely; clothing and footwear group by 0.01 percent; recreation, sports and culture group 0.03 percent; and information, communication and financial services 0.11 percent. Meanwhile, the other two expenditure groups are stable or not experiencing inflation / deflation.

Based on the dominant commodity that contributed to the formation of inflation in July 2020, it was noted that rice became the largest commodity contributing to general inflation. The share of rice commodities to inflation by 0.12 percent. Other commodities which also contributed significantly to inflation were purebred chicken eggs by 0.07 percent; petai amounted to 0.06; and online 2-wheeled vehicle tariffs of 0.06 percent. While the commodity that experienced the highest deflation was onion by 0.17 percent.
