Pringsewu (6/2) – The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of Pringsewu Regency is committed to managing archives responsibly and environmentally friendly. In this effort, BPS Pringsewu Regency is collaborating with PT Citra Sarana Kreasindo (CSK) to destroy government archives through the paper waste recycling method.
Previously, BPS Pringsewu Regency destroyed archives by burning them. However, this method is considered less environmentally friendly because it can cause air pollution and waste resources. Therefore, BPS Pringsewu Regency is switching to a more sustainable method by recycling archives that no longer have any use value, so that they can be reused and reduce environmental pollution.
This activity began with the process of transporting old archives from the BPS Pringsewu Regency office warehouse to the PT Citra Sarana Kreasindo (CSK) Lampung branch warehouse located in Natar District, South Lampung Regency. Next, the archives will be pressed at the CSK Warehouse before finally being melted at PT Pindo Deli Pulp And Paper Mills, Karawang, West Java.
Acting Head of General Affairs of BPS Pringsewu Regency, Singgih Adiwijaya, said that this step is in line with his agency's commitment to supporting government programs related to greener environmental management. "We want to ensure that every administrative process we carry out is not only effective and efficient, but also contributes to environmental sustainability. Recycling these archives is one real step in implementing eco-friendly principles in bureaucracy," he said.
PT Citra Sarana Kreasindo also welcomed this collaboration and stated that it is ready to support the recycling-based archive management program. "We have a safe and environmentally friendly paper waste processing system, so that it can help BPS Pringsewu Regency in realizing a more sustainable administration," said Irfan Itsnaini, a representative of the company.
With this initiative, it is hoped that more government institutions and other agencies will participate in implementing more environmentally friendly archive management methods. This step by the Pringsewu Regency BPS is expected to be an example for other institutions in implementing document management practices that are oriented towards environmental sustainability.
