Lampung Province Consumer Tendency Index for the First Quarter of 2011 Reached 100.24

Abstract

Lampung's Consumer Tendency Index (ITK) for the first quarter of 2011 was 100.24. This value is slightly lower than the National which reached 102.42. The improvement in consumer economic conditions in Lampung in this quarter was driven by the increase in household income with an index value of 103.75.

Based on the average monthly household income group, consumers with an income of IDR 2 million and above have a higher index than consumers with an income of less than IDR 2 million a month. The relatively low inflation rate has had an impact on reducing the level of food and non-food consumption in both groups.

Lampung's ITK value for the second quarter of 2011 is estimated at 107.04, meaning that consumer economic conditions are expected to improve. The level of consumer optimism is estimated to be higher compared to the first quarter of 2011 which was only 100.24.

Improvement in consumer economic conditions in the coming quarter is predicted by an increase in household income with an estimated ITK of 106.59.
