Abstract

Y-on-y inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by the increase in all expenditure group indices, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group by 8.67 percent; clothing and footwear group by 1.44 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuel group at 0.36 percent; health group by 1.23 percent; transportation group at 0.69 percent; recreation, sports and culture group at 0.74 percent; education group by 1.20 percent; the food and beverage/restaurant provision group was 1.62 percent and the personal care and other services group was 0.13 percent. Meanwhile, the groups that experienced a decline in the index were: equipment, tools and routine household maintenance group by 0.59 percent; and the information, communication and financial services group at 1.86 percent.

The month to month (m-to-m) inflation rate and year to date (y-to-d) inflation rate for Metro City in April 2024 are -0.02 percent and 0.87 percent respectively.
